Special features:
item products are based on different modular dimensions and their associated system grooves. Profiles from Lines 5, 6, 8, 10 and 12 each need corresponding sizes of fasteners. The profiles in Line X feature a Line 8 system groove but have a particularly flat surface with minimum curve radii that make them ideal for building sealed constructions.

Details

Profile 8 80x40 5NO light is a universal construction profile made of high-quality anodized aluminium in the modular dimension of Line 8.
This weight-reduced aluminium profile in the light design variant from item features one open groove on a narrow side and five closed Line 8 profile grooves that are especially easy to open up. This aluminium profile can be used to build frames that have easy-to-clean unbroken outer surfaces.
T-Slot Opener 8NO is used to remove the groove cover over any length beginning from the end face of the profile or any other opening of sufficient size. If the opening does not extend to the end of the profile, the end of the opening must be defined with a hole of ⌀ 9.2 mm.
Perfectly closed over but easy to open up! Profile 8 40x40 3NO light and Profile 8 80x40 5NO light have an ingenious, smooth groove cover that is easy to open up due to its special contour, which eliminates the need for milling work. A hand tool such as the item T-Slot Opener 8NO (0.0.612.88) is all it takes.
Each profile has one open groove and three or five closed grooves. They are ideal for constructing easy-to-clean frames, enclosures and doors. What’s more, unbroken surfaces create a striking look.
The easy-to-open groove cover (indicated in the product name by the letters NO) is perfect for use with Automatic-Fastening Set 8 NO (0.0.489.96), which is designed to create profile connections with smooth, unbroken surfaces.
Exposing the groove: It is advisable to mark the start and end of the opening with a hole of diameter 9.2 mm.
The groove covering can them be removed easily by levering with a screwdriver.
It is advisable to deburr the edges of the groove opening.
T-Slot Nuts, for example, can then be inserted into the profile groove through the opening.
The profiles in Line 8 are available in standard, light and economy (E) design variants. Due to additional cavities, a Profile 8 80x40 light weighs around 33 percent less than a Profile 8 80x40 in the same length. A Profile 8 80x40 E weighs approximately 47 percent less.
The area moments of inertia against profile deflection and the maximum groove load-bearing capacity of the selected profile must be given due consideration in respect of the loads involved.
Line 8 profiles from item are available with closed grooves in a variety of arrangements. The profile wall can be opened up partially or completely so that the groove underneath can be used. The NO design variant indicates that the closed grooves are particularly easy to open up thanks to two notches on the underside of the outer surface.
Automatic-Fastening Set 8 NO (0.0.489.96) is ideal for connecting profiles together. It requires only a minimal opening in the groove and comes with its own cap.
